Afternoon Pick-Ups
Our instructional day runs until 2:40pm each day – including music classes in our music room.  To that end, we must remind our families that the area around the music room door is off-limits as the teacher is teaching inside and she needs room outside of her door to escort her learners out at the end of class.  We also ask that you keep your conversations at a low volume so that there are no distractions to the teaching/learning going on in the music room.

If you are waiting for your children there, please be mindful that we are still an active working and learning place until 2:40pm.

Breakfast Club 50/50
Thanks so much for your very kind support of our 50/50 draw from which all of the proceeds will go to our Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Club.

Our breakfast program is nothing short of wildly successful – our learners just LOVE it!  You should see them filing through the cafeteria excitedly collecting their milk and other breakfast items and making their way back to class.   We proudly acknowledge the corps of volunteers lead by Cheri Butler who go above and beyond to ensure this program’s success.

Please ensure that you have your ticket stubs and money returned to the school by Thursday, October 11, 2018 so that we can get everything ready for the draw on October 12, 2018.

If you would like extra tickets, please send an e-mail to Lisa Morgan; she can easily tell you if we have any extra available.

Boys Basketball Program
The organizers of our boys basketball program (grades three and four) will host a meeting on Monday, October 1, 2018 here at the school for anyone interested in coaching and assisting with their program this year.

Field Trips
Please ensure that permission slips for field trips are signed and returned to the school in a timely manner.  We cannot accept telephone permission at the last minute and we don’t want to be placed in the position where we cannot permit your child to go on the trip.

Girls Basketball Program
Our girls basketball program (grades three and four) gets underway on Tuesday, October 2, 20187 with an orientation for parents and girls (not a drop-off this night).  They, too, are looking for some volunteers to assist with their programs.

Hallowe’en Parties
We will celebrate Hallowe’en on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 during the last hour of the school day.

As you begin the annual process of sourcing costumes, please bear in mind that we cannot permit costumes of a violent or sexual nature  in our school and any props should be small, safe, unobtrusive and not represent violence (i.e., guns, etc.).

We are not in a position to accept class sets of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, loot bags, treat bags, etc. at our Hallowe’en Parties; we spend far too much time passing them out and they cause a tremendous mess for our cleaning staff.  And, most importantly, we can never be too careful with allergens – far better to be safe than sorry.

School Closures
Please remember that we are closed on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 and on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 for teacher professional development.

In addition to these dates, we will observe Thanksgiving Day on Monday, October 8, 2018.

Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Presentation
Cst. Tanya Schwartz will speak to our learners in grades two, three, and four on Monday, October 1, 2018 here in our school gym on “Stranger Danger”.  This is an attempt to help our learners understand the right course of action should they encounter uncomfortable situations involving strangers.

School Council Election
We are thrilled to welcome Dean Kearney and Candace Rideout as parent representatives on our School Council.  We congratulate all four candidates for putting their names forward.
